Phnom Penh, 29th January 2021 – UNIDO Biogas project and the Biogas Technology and Information Center (BTIC) Cambodia jointly organized a training workshop to raise awareness on the Commercial Biogas Technology for energy generation to project developers including piggery farm owners, local agro-processing factories, local consulting firms, and other relevant stakeholders. This interactive training brought about 25 participants of which many were from piggery farms. The training was designed to provide practical knowledge specifically on how to sizing cover lagoon digester, biogas genset capacity, and effective and important role of biogas pre-treatment system as well as a mechanism to avoid emitting exceed biogas (methane) into atmosphere. The training provided opportunity to project developers to raise the challenges facing biogas system operation at their facilities and sought for technical assistance to solve these bottlenecks. As an immediate response, BTIC created a chat group with those participants so that they keep in touch to explore appropriate solutions.
